We make games, and the tools to make them.
Starworks is an independent studio. We’re making Aphelyon on an engine we wrote ourselves, and we publish the libraries underneath it.
Four rules we build by.
They’re why the studio writes its own technology, and why that technology is public.
Own the stack
We write the engine, the ECS, the physics and the platform layer ourselves, so every frame is ours to understand and ours to fix.
Build in the open
The libraries under our games are public on GitHub, and development happens where you can watch it: Discord and YouTube devlogs.
Determinism first
Fixed timesteps, index-stable iteration and SIMD that bit-matches the scalar path: from Mosaic up, the same input gives the same frame.
Measure, then claim
Performance numbers come from benchmarks that live with the code, like Astra’s billion iterations a second.
A game, and everything under it.
Aphelyon is the reason the stack exists; the stack is what we’ve learned making it.
Say hello.
Press, partnerships, or just questions about the work: we read everything.
